This year, Friends of PIR welcomed over 100 youth from three local organizations, African Youth & Community Organization, Faithful Friends, and JoyRx to an unforgettable experience at the Rose Cup Races. With the help of 12 incredible volunteers, the kids built Formula 1 Legos, explored the park, cheered on races – and most memorably, met drivers, sat in race cars, and collected autographs.
Next year, we are excited to grow this program further, creating more opportunities for youth to connect, explore, and dream at the track. Here’s what youth chaperones had to say: “Our kids had such an amazing time. My mentee said it was one of her best days ever! Your team really went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The kids felt really special, getting to sit in the cars, meet the drivers, and the cool vintage posters with the autographs were all big highlights.”
“Thanks so much, the weekend was great, and the kids really enjoyed it. From the cars to the volunteers, everything made a big impact. I’m sure they’ll want to come back next year.”
A huge thanks to the drivers, volunteers, and guests who made the day so special.
