PIR visitors contribute over $25M yearly to local economy

According to a study by EcoNorthwest, visitors to Portland International Raceway add over $25M to the local economy annually. The track attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, with most of the spending coming from those who travel more than 50 miles. This means PIR boosts our local economy by driving traffic to local businesses, hotels, and restaurants, and creating job opportunities through PIR’s events.

Key statistics from the report

  • 330,000+ visitors each year
  • 15,000+ hotel nights
  • 60+ local jobs related to track use
  • Over $25M of economic activity generated by non-local visitors (>50 miles away)
