Since its inception, FOPIR has contributed over $250,000 to improve infrastructure and the experience of visitors, volunteers, and PIR employees. Most notably, we have:
- Purchased critical rescue equipment
- Acquired a Turn 8 flagging safety light
- Renovated the footbridge over the raceway
- Installed a new security fence at the main entrance gate
- Installed air conditioning in the North Tower building
- Increased picnic area seating capacity
Upcoming contributions include a new pavilion in the south paddock and a trophy cabinet to showcase Rose Cup trophies, some of which date back to the first PIR race in 1961.
In addition, FOPIR has provided over $120,000 to local road racing clubs including Oregon Region SCCA and the Cascade Sports Car Club. These clubs are the heart of club racing in the Pacific Northwest. By putting on numerous amateur races and helping FOPIR provide hundreds of volunteers at big events like IndyCar, NASCAR, Rose Cup Races, and Formula E, they are keeping the spirit of racing alive at PIR.
