Cascade Sports Car Club’s Rose City Opener – Linda Blackburn Memorial Race was exceptional. The weather was fantastic (sunny and 70 degrees), and the sizable grids provided some stellar racing. This was the International Conference of Sports Car Club’s (ICSCC) Championship opening weekend, as well as both the Northwest Mini Enduro Championship Series and Nostalgic Series’ opening weekend.
It was great to see fans in the stands and those roaming the paddock. They saw a lot of BMW’s and Miatas and were treated to great PRO3 and Pacific Northwest Spec Miata Tour racing! Each of those groups had over 30 cars entered. The only group that was larger was the mini enduro, where over 40 cars entered the one-hour race. All in all, it was a great weekend in memory of our dear friend, volunteer, and past racer Linda Blackburn.
Next up for Cascade racing is the Dash for Kids charity race weekend on June 13-14. This race weekend is basically a carbon copy of the Rose City Opener, with the addition of noon-time rides around PIR that will once again benefit the Community Transitional School. Please plan to join us for another exciting weekend of racing as we also raise money for a worthy charity.
