Oregon House Bill 2738, if passed, would prohibit the use of leaded fuel at PIR.
As many of you know, a small minority of participants at some PIR events are required to use leaded fuel for technical reasons. While lead has long been linked to certain health risks, there is to-date no scientific evidence linking use of leaded fuel at PIR with elevated levels of lead in the air in the broader community.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit in service of the continued use and development of the park for a wide spectrum of uses, FOPIR is neither supporting nor opposing the proposed legislation. However, this legislation, if enacted, would negatively affect some of our user groups.
